Well, it’s been about 3 years since my last post.

In the time since my last post, a lot has changed. We welcomed our baby girl, Poppy, in June 2022, and through it all, I fell back in love with cooking. I completely transformed my diet and how I view food. Then, in May 2024, we had another beautiful baby girl, Daphne. And somehow, I’ve rewritten this blog post three times and still don’t remember how to use WordPress lol.
That said, I’m not entirely sure what the future holds for Homemade Haley. I still love cooking, but gone are the days when I could spend all day developing recipes, cooking, and staging detailed photo shoots. I would love to keep sharing the meals we’re making at home, but it may need to be simpler than before… and I think I’m okay with that.
This blog is something I’ve poured so much effort into over the years, and it’s hard to see it sitting untouched for so long. I do have a backlog of recipes and photos ready to go, I just need to dive in and start sharing! It’s all about progress over perfection.
Going forward, our diet and the content will look a lot different from when this all started back in 2020. We’ve moved away from vegan/vegetarian eating and now focus on high-quality, local meats and dairy—while still keeping whole foods as the base of our meals 80% of the time.
My goal is for this blog to be a place where I can share any recipe, idea, or life update without feeling the need to fit into a perfect “niche” or stress over flawless photos and SEO. It’s a work in progress, but I’m excited to share it with you all.
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the recipes that are already here—they’re still some of my absolute favorites!
God bless,
Haley
